Intended end use : A saliva absorption pad is a soft, absorbent material used to manage saliva and maintain a dry working area during surgical procedures, such as root canal treatments, dental restorations, or oral surgeries.
Product description : Saliva absorption pad is a soft absorbent material based on superabsorbent polymers.
Novelty : It is made from a naturally occurring, biocompatible superabsorbent polymer capable of absorbing 400–500% of its dry weight in saline.
Current Development stage/ Evaluations done :
Preliminary evaluations completed. Initiated biocompatibility evaluation using suitable animal models.
Industry responsibility :
Scale up and getting regulatory approvals in collaboration with SCTIMST
Deliverables from Institute : Detailed formulations, design of the saliva absorption pad, complete documentation including test reports, bill of materials.
